Deep Body Cleansing
A deep cleanse on the back, chest and shoulders — where the skin gets oily, the pores clog and your own hand cannot reach.
Why the body needs cleansing
On the back, the chest and the shoulders the sebaceous glands are dense and the skin is thicker. That is where blackheads and clogged pores gather — and that is exactly where your own hand cannot reach.
Body cleansing does what a facial cleanse does, over a larger surface and on skin that tolerates more. It removes dead cells and trapped sebum, so that the surface becomes smooth again.
The procedure, step by step
- Preparation
We clean the area with dedicated antiseptic products and take a close look at what we are dealing with.
- Peeling
Exfoliation with grains or with fruit acids, to remove the layer of dead cells.
- Steam
Fifteen to twenty minutes with steam (vapozone). The skin softens and the pores open.
- Sebum extraction
Manual removal of impurities and blackheads. It is the most demanding step and the one that determines the result.
- Disinfection
High-frequency current for antisepsis of the area and to close the pores.
- Mask and moisturising
A soothing mask, often with clay, and a final cream to calm the skin.
What you gain
- ✓Smooth texture — the rough feel left by dead cells goes, mainly on the back.
- ✓Clear pores — fewer blackheads and fewer blocked follicles that would have turned into pimples.
- ✓Better absorption — whatever you put on your body afterwards works on a clean surface.
- ✓Appearance — the back is the area you do not see and others do. For many people that is the whole reason.
Before the summer
It is the season when it is asked for most. On clean, exfoliated skin the colour takes more evenly, because there is no uneven layer of dead cells underneath.
That does not mean it gives you a licence for the sun. In the first days after a cleanse the skin is more sensitive to solar radiation, so let a few days pass before you expose it. Sunscreen is needed in any case, before and after.
Honesty about body acne
What cleansing does not do
It is not a treatment for acne. It clears the pores and improves the look of the skin, but it does not touch the causes. If the acne on your back is severe, inflammatory or leaves scars, a dermatologist is the right destination — and the cleanse can sit alongside their treatment, if they agree.
The result is not permanent. Sebum is produced again and the pores fill up again. The cleanse is repeated, and the interval depends on how oily your own skin is.
It is not done on irritated or damaged skin. If you have sunburn, active inflammation or a recent procedure in the area, we postpone it.
Questions & Answers
What most people ask, answered briefly and clearly.
Does it hurt?
The extraction step is uncomfortable, especially if there are many blocked spots. The steam beforehand softens the skin enough to make it tolerable. Tell us when it is too much and we take a break.
How often should I have it?
It depends on how oily your skin is. A very oily back needs it more regularly than normal skin. We work out the interval that suits you after the first session, not over the phone.
Will my back go red?
Yes, for a few hours, and on sensitive skin until the next day. It is a normal reaction to the extraction and it settles on its own.
What do I do afterwards?
On the same day avoid the sauna, very hot baths, the gym and clothes that rub. Stay out of the sun for a few days and put sunscreen on exposed areas.
Can I have hair removal on the same day?
Not on the same area. Both procedures irritate the skin and together they are too much. Tell us what you have planned and we put them in order with enough time in between.
Is it only done on the back?
The back is the most common area, but the cleanse is also done on the chest and the shoulders. If all three concern you, we work on them in the same session — which is why the duration goes towards 90 minutes.
