Laser Facial Hair Removal
Upper lip, chin, cheeks or nape: the face calls for the greatest precision — and here the Alexandrite, correctly set, makes the difference safely on your most exposed skin.
Why laser on the face
Facial hair growth is often hormone-dependent, which is why it needs more sessions than the body and steady maintenance. The laser gives gradual, permanent thinning without the daily irritation of shaving, waxing or threading — which on the face leave redness and folliculitis.
- ✓Freedom from daily hair removal and irritation in the most visible spot
- ✓Millimetre precision in small, awkward zones such as the upper lip
- ✓Finer, sparser hair from the first sessions onwards

The procedure step by step
- Free assessment
Analysis of your phototype and hair growth, a medical history and a personalised session plan.
- Preparation
Shaving of the area 24 hours beforehand; your therapist sets the laser to your own characteristics.
- Session
Short pulses with simultaneous cooling — the sensation of a brief "snap" with warmth.
- After
Moisturiser and sun protection. The hairs "shed" gradually over the next 1–3 weeks.
Before & after the session
- ✓Before: shave 24 hours beforehand — no wax or tweezers for 4 weeks, so that the root is there as a "target".
- ✓Before: our system does not require you to stay out of the sun — just tell us if you have tanned recently, so that we can adjust the settings.
- ✓After: moisturiser, a mild cleanser and SPF 50 on exposed areas for 2 weeks.
- ✓After: no sauna, hammam, intense exercise or very hot showers for 24–48 hours.
- ✓After: on the face, keep SPF 50 in your daily routine — staying in the sun is not a contraindication.
The research confirms it
"Laser hair removal is safe and effective, with mild and transient side effects, when performed by trained staff — even in sensitive areas."
The face & your daily beauty routine
Facial hair removal has to be coordinated carefully with the rest of your care: active ingredients such as retinoids and acids (AHA/BHA) are stopped 3–5 days around each session, while peels and dermabrasion are scheduled at least two weeks away. Make-up is allowed from the very next day — and because the hair is removed from the root, the skin looks smoother and make-up sits better than ever.
Questions & Answers
What most people ask, with honest answers.
Why does the face need more sessions?
Facial hair growth is affected by hormones and the hairs are often finer, with less melanin — so a harder target. That is why the average is 8–12 sessions, plus perhaps 1–2 maintenance sessions a year.
Can it be done on fine downy hair?
Very fine, light downy hair does not respond well to the laser, because it does not contain enough melanin. At the assessment we will tell you honestly what can improve and what cannot.
What if hormones are the cause (e.g. PCOS)?
The laser effectively reduces existing hair growth, but the hormonal cause needs medical investigation alongside it. We work with your history and set realistic expectations.
Will my skin be irritated?
Mild redness usually appears for a few hours. With proper cooling, moisturising and sun protection, the face returns to normal straight away.
