Laser Underarm Hair Removal — BFI

Laser Underarm Hair Removal

The most popular area for hair removal — and not by chance: dark, dense hair over a small area means quick sessions and a striking result that shows fast.

Why laser on the underarms

The underarm combines everything the Alexandrite laser likes: dark, coarse hair with high melanin over a small area. On top of that, permanent hair removal here means the end of razor marks, of folliculitis and of the dark "shadow" left by daily shaving.

  • ✓A session in under 10 minutes — it fits into a work break
  • ✓Visible thinning often from the 1st or 2nd session
  • ✓The end of folliculitis and daily irritation

The underarm is one of the fastest areas thanks to dark, dense hair — the percentages are indicative averages.

The procedure step by step

  1. Free assessment

Analysis of your phototype and hair growth, a medical history and a personalised session plan.

  2. Preparation

Shaving of the area 24 hours beforehand; your therapist sets the laser to your own characteristics.

  3. Session

Short pulses with simultaneous cooling — the sensation of a brief "snap" with warmth.

  4. After

Moisturiser and sun protection. The hairs "shed" gradually over the next 1–3 weeks.

Before & after the session

  • ✓Before: shave 24 hours beforehand — no wax or tweezers for 4 weeks, so that the root is there as a "target".
  • ✓Before: our system does not require you to stay out of the sun — just tell us if you have tanned recently, so that we can adjust the settings.
  • ✓After: moisturiser, a mild cleanser and SPF 50 on exposed areas for 2 weeks.
  • ✓After: no sauna, hammam, intense exercise or very hot showers for 24–48 hours.
  • ✓Avoid deodorants containing alcohol for 24 hours after the session — choose mild, fragrance-free ones.

The research confirms it

"A mean hair reduction of ~89% was maintained 18 months after treatment with the 755nm Alexandrite laser."

And sweating? A myth we clear up

The laser targets the hair follicle alone — not the sweat glands, which sit at a different depth. Sweating neither increases nor decreases. What does change: with no hair, the bacteria that cause odour have less of a home, and many visitors report a fresher feeling all day — with deodorant now going onto smooth, calm skin.

Questions & Answers

What most people ask, with honest answers.

Does the underarm hurt more?

It is a sensitive area, but the session takes very little time and the cooling of the handpiece reduces the sensation to a momentary "pinch". Most people describe it as entirely tolerable.

Can I use deodorant?

Yes — just avoid products containing alcohol for 24 hours after the session, so the freshly treated skin is not irritated.

Will the dark "shadow" go as well?

Often yes: much of it comes from hairs cut off below the skin and from chronic irritation. As the hair thins, the area gradually looks more even.

How quickly will I see a result?

The hairs shed within 1–3 weeks of the very first session, and each regrowth is sparser and finer. The full course is usually completed in 6–8 sessions.
