Eyebrow shaping with wax — BFI

Eyebrow Shaping with Wax

Ten to fifteen minutes for a clean, symmetrical line. Hard wax takes the fine hair that tweezers cannot catch as well, and the shape lasts 3 to 4 weeks.

Why wax and not tweezers alone

Tweezers take the hairs out one by one. Wax clears the whole area around the eyebrow in a single movement, along with the fine hair that cannot be caught any other way.

That is also where the real difference in the result lies. Once the fine hair is gone, the bone under the eyebrow catches the light and the line looks cleaner, without a single hair more having been removed than we agreed.

The process, step by step

  1. Design

We measure the proportions of your face — the start, the arch and the end of the eyebrow — and agree on the shape before we touch anything.

  2. Application

A small amount of warm hard wax goes on the areas around the eyebrow. Hard wax grips the hair and not the skin.

  3. Removal

The wax is removed sharply, without a strip, taking the unwanted hairs out by the root.

  4. Detail

The final touches are done with tweezers, where the precision of a single hair is needed.

What you gain and what to expect

It is one of the shortest services we do, but it has its own "afterwards" too.

  • ✓Speed — the whole process takes 10 to 15 minutes, no more than a stop in your day.
  • ✓Duration — the shape lasts 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the pace of your own hair.
  • ✓A clean line — the fine hair goes too, not only the visible hairs around the eyebrow.
  • ✓Redness — slight redness for an hour or two is normal and subsides on its own.
  • ✓A sensitive area — the skin around the eyes is thin, so the sensation is strong but momentary.

After the session

  • ✓On the first day — avoid the sun and heavy rubbing of the area.
  • ✓Make-up — let the area settle before you put products on it.
  • ✓If you are going out — book your appointment a day earlier, so that the redness has comfortably passed.

Where wax stops

What shaping with wax does not do

Wax removes, it does not add. If your eyebrow has thinned or has gaps, the shape will bring them out rather than cover them. We will tell you that from the start and look together at what makes sense.

It is not permanent. The hair grows back and the shape needs maintenance every few weeks.

If you use retinoids or have recently had a facial peel, tell us before we start. The skin reacts differently and we may need to postpone it.

Questions & Answers

What most people ask, answered briefly and clearly.

How long does the shape last?

Three to four weeks. It depends on the growth rate of your own hair, which is why we work out the maintenance interval after the first two visits.

Does it hurt?

The area around the eyes is sensitive, so you feel a sharp sting at the moment of removal. It lasts only a few seconds and it lessens as the skin gets used to it.

How long does the hair have to be?

Long enough for the wax to grip it. If you come too early we will tell you and we will book a new appointment. Half a job serves nobody.

Can I go out the same day?

Usually yes. Allow an hour or two for the redness to pass. If your skin is very sensitive, it is better to book it the day before.

Wax or tweezers?

Both, in the right order. Wax clears the fine hair and the bulk, tweezers do the detail at the end.

Will you change my shape completely?

Not without agreeing it first. At the design stage we show you what we suggest and why, and we only go ahead if you like it. Hair that is removed takes weeks to come back.
