Facial hair removal: downy hair, hormones and permanent solutions that work

Upper lip, chin, cheeks: facial hair has its own "logic" — and its own solutions. What really works, and where honesty is needed.

Why heavy hair growth appears on the face

The follicles of the face are particularly sensitive to androgens. Puberty, polycystic ovary syndrome, the menopause or certain medicines can "wake up" fine hair and turn it into coarser, visible hair.

What the laser catches — and what it does not

The laser targets melanin: on the dark, fully formed hair of the upper lip or the chin it performs excellently. On light, fine hair ("peach fuzz") there is no adequate target — and anyone who promises otherwise is not telling you the truth.

When hormones lie behind the hair

When your history "points" to a hormonal background, we will suggest an endocrinological check in parallel. The laser manages the effect (the hair) perfectly well, but the cause needs its own doctor — and our plan is coordinated with them.

The realistic plan for the face

Allow for 8–12 sessions every 4 weeks, with 1–2 possible maintenance sessions a year. Staying in the sun is not contraindicated — SPF 50 stays in your daily routine as skin care. Pause active ingredients around the sessions, and be patient: the face takes a little longer, but the result is worth it.
