Bikini laser hair removal: everything you want to ask (and are too shy to)

For Women By the BFI Team · 6′ read · Updated: July 2026

No question is "odd" when it is about your own body. We have gathered what most women ask — from the first session to the final result — and we answer without beating about the bush.

The three design options

The line clears whatever shows outside your underwear or your swimsuit. The brazilian leaves a narrow strip in the centre and clears everything around it. The full removes everything. The shape is decided at each session — you can change your mind as often as you like along the way.

Does it hurt? The honest answer

It is the most sensitive area of the programme — we will not tell you that "you feel nothing". You will feel sharp, momentary pinches for a few minutes, which the cooling of the handpiece eases considerably. Most women describe it as "entirely tolerable" and clearly preferable to monthly waxing.

Hygiene, safety, discretion

The session takes place in a private room with a female therapist, with single-use consumables and with the areas that are not being treated covered. The laser acts at a depth of a few millimetres — in the hair follicles — and mucous membranes are never treated.

Practical tips before you come

  • Shave the area 24 hours before — no waxing for 4 weeks.
  • Choose cotton, comfortable underwear for afterwards.
  • Avoid the days of your period — the area is more sensitive.
  • Tell us if you are pregnant or trying to conceive — the programme is paused as a precaution.
