Back and chest hair removal for men: the modern guide, without taboos

For Men By the BFI Team · 5′ read · Updated: July 2026

Almost half of all new assessments at BFI are now for men — and the reasons are entirely practical. If you have been thinking about it for a while, here is everything you would want to know before your first appointment.

Why more and more men are choosing it

Comfort in sport, an end to folliculitis from waxing, easier hygiene and a clean appearance without daily effort. Men's hair removal stopped being an "issue" long ago — it is simply grooming.

The areas that lead the way

Back and shoulders are the number one request — where the razor cannot reach and wax hurts most. Then come the chest and abdomen, the nape (for a clean finish to a haircut) and "lowering" the beard line.

Thinning or full removal?

You do not have to end up with a "polished" result if you do not want one: with targeted settings we achieve natural thinning that simply "turns down the volume". Many men start with thinning on the chest and full removal on the back.

What to expect

Men's hair is thicker and is fed by testosterone — allow for 6–8 sessions and possibly 1–2 more than the average for women. We take care of the preparatory shaving of the back at the appointment.
